To whom it may concern:

I'd like to ask that you support S.1077 (HR version to come) or the Robocall Privacy Act.

Robocalls continue to be abused by political entities and the RPA attempts to regulate the worst abuses of the law.

- Only 2 robo calls a day to any one phone number.

- The sponsor of the call must be announced at the START of the call, vs. the END.

- The caller ID must be accurate.

- Robocalls can not be made before 8 AM or after 9 PM.

I luckily only use my cell phone anymore, but yes, completely understand the frustration. I think having the sponsor at the beginning of the call a great idea.

Yes, please support this bill. My only fear is that violators will simply find another way around the law.

There is nothing more annoying than telemarketers! To GAMomof2, they have started calling cellphones... I have experienced it...

Robocalls are horribly intrusive, and they seem to be highly targeted. For instance, my parents may not receive one all day, but after using the phone they will immediately receive a robocall.

this makes a lot of sense. i only use my cell anymore, but i can totally understand how annoying this is. there were times with our landline that we were getting 6-8 a day.

I agree that the number of calls should be limited, and that information should be given early in the conversation and accurate.

I totally agree with the intent of this letter. I guess, though, it's no more annoying than commercials on TV or billboards. Robo calls are less awkward than human telemarketers for me, anyway. I can't just hang up on a human.

I agree. Robocalls do not add any value to the political process. The argument that this violates free speech is ridiculous because this is invasive. Free speech does not include the right to harass people with automated phone calls.

This legislation seems to be tailored to closely match the current debt collection laws. The limits seem to strike a reasonable balance between free speech and indivudual liberty. It certainly isn't unreasonable to know who is calling you, to not get called at 2:00am and to not get flooded with call after call all day long. After all, the phone lines are only public until they enter my house. At that point, I pay for them therefore they belong to me. Robocallers rights end where my rights begin.

Robocalls are certainly annoying, but there is no way that the politicians who use them are going to ban them.

I really hope this gets looked at because even my cell phone gets the abnoxious calls and they will call any hour i recieved one at 3 in the morning on more than one occasion.

This absolutely needs to be done-- there are restrictions on when businesses can call, so there should be restrictions on when candidates can call.

Robocalls a re obnoxious. When your phone is on the national DO NOT CALL registry, these people need to be stopped. The phone companies should stop these calls before people stop their landlines.
