Ellen, my comment would simply be that Michael Moore creates propaganda movies that are so skillfully produced that you are lulled into a sense of being shown facts. Michael Moore runs a corporation himself. He doesn't pay overtime. He doesn't provide benefits or health insurance. He doesn't provide job security. And he doesn't accept input from his employees on how his company should be run. He makes millions of dollars in personal profit, keeping it for himself, and has flourished quite well from the capitalist system that he condemns.

Hey Ru! My article titled "We weren't cheering Obama's loss..." on www.liberallyspeaking.net speaks to the issue you're raising. Since blogs are no fun without articulate and passionate disagreement, if you'd like to check out the article, I would be honored.

Guru: I always try to apply the rule of "how would I feel if this was the other party doing the same thing". Do you feel it's appropriate for the government to investigate organizations who have opinions that the government disagrees with? If the government is concerned with the accuracy of the facts being discussed, should it not work harder to make it's position known, as opposed to investigate (whatever that may mean or lead to) an organization, individual, or company? If the Bush administration had begun an investigation of ACORN based on brochures that ACORN distributed, would you not have felt it was a gross overreach? www.liberallyspeaking.net

Well said, Phydo. However, I disagree that the President is "serving corporate interests". I believe he is serving Leftist ideological interests, that state that greater government control of people's lives will improve the lives of the majority by protecting them from the minority (usually defined as "the rich", or "corporations" or "the capitalist system" or "free enterprise").

I have to compliment Escalade on his precision. His point are excellent. WHITEHERON: I would caution you against supporting a plan for which you know no details. Obama has consistently, "from the very beginning" as he likes to say, avoided giving any details about how his proposals would work. I would remind you of two things; 1) once a plan is enacted, we will NEVER get rid of it, and 2) when plans fail, it is the poor that get hit hardest, firstest.

I'm sorry, Guru, that's such an off the wall comment that it's hard to justify spending the time to interate all it's absurdities. No offense intended.

Dear Momof_2: The most effective thing you can do to stop the mistreatment of farm animals is to become a vegetarian, and train your children to become vegetarians. The only way to stop the slaughter of animals for food is to stop eating them.
